How the Clue App Helped Me Understand My Body and Take Control of My Cycle

Ladies, let's talk about something that's on every woman's mind but often goes undiscussed – our menstrual cycle. For years, we have been told to deal with the unpleasant side effects of our periods and not to complain. But I'm here to tell you that tracking your menstrual cycle and making notes can help you understand your body better and take control of your cycle.

Since I started using the Clue app seven months ago, everything has become more clear to me. The app is free, and it allows me to make notes every day about how I'm feeling. I track everything, from when I'm feeling bloated, when my legs are swollen, when I have visible cellulite, or when I get pimples.

Before my period, I get more sensitive, swollen, and I may even have some skin problems. My biggest cravings are not during the period, but always 2-3 days before. I try to have my cheat meals around those days.

But what I've discovered is that each time I get spots, I'm slightly bloated, and the "bulk" under my belly is more visible during the ovulation time, which lasts around 4-6 days. I don't crave during that time. To be honest, I always eat well, so I couldn't understand why I'm getting so much water retention, and my skin is getting worse in the middle of the cycle.

Now I know. After taking my notes, I've noticed that it's always at the same time, ovulation time.

Why is it so helpful? As most of you have probably noticed, your body can change a lot during a month. One day, you can think you're getting so lean, and two days after, you have entirely other feelings, and you end up feeling like a balloon, and you don't understand why.

It can be very discouraging, especially when you do your best, and your body doesn't want to listen to you. Then, emotional eating creeps in because it doesn't make sense to be good when you feel like you don't see any results. We've all been there!

However, if you can start tracking it, believe me, it's easier to control your emotions! You can prepare yourself mentally for worse days and not give up. That's how your body responds to all hormonal changes. It is what it is. But it doesn't mean that you can't progress with your weight loss or just with changing your shape. You can! Consistency is key! Understanding your body should be a priority. It takes time, and you need to make notes, but believe me, it's worth it!

We are complicated animals! A lot of things are happening in our minds. One day we feel like a badass, and the next day, we can feel very tiny and miserable. We can be on track, and one little thing can ruin everything.

So make notes, observe, and try to understand your body. You need to separate emotions and hormonal changes from your routine and habits.

Please track your cycle. After a while, you'll understand what I'm talking about.

P.S. Of course, you need to eat clean! It's a fact that if you eat poorly, you feel heavy, bloated, and swollen. So you can't blame your cycle if you eat junk food!

Ladies, it's time to take control of our bodies and understand them better. Start tracking your cycle today and see how it can change your life. With Clue app, you can make notes and observe your body's changes & understand it better.
